About Me

Aideen is an editor based in London and sometimes Belfast.

I began my career in the world of commercials and music videos, training up at high-end post house The Assembly Rooms where I learned both the tech side of the job and how to sift through footage to find the most beautiful movement of one frame into another.

Transitioning into the narrative depth of HETV and Features allowed me to expand this practice into long-form storytelling. Moving through the ranks on tentpole productions like The Crown, Britannia and Top Boy, and assembling on projects for Merman (Frayed) and Netflix (Black Doves), has provided a rigorous education in different creative languages and editing ecosystems.

My transition to lead editing began in 2021 with Jane Gull's Love Without Walls. Co-editing alongside a long-term collaborator, the film ultimately won Best UK Feature at the Manchester and London Independent Film Festivals.

This was followed by The Spin, an improvised buddy/road comedy set in Ireland, and Rian Lennon's Housejackers. Recently, I edited Ina Luders' debut feature Such a Vivid Imagination, which caught a standing ovation at its Berlinale EFM screening.

My favourite thing about editing is the way you get your hands dirty with all the different textures of a piece, and get to blend all the art forms together - story, image, music, movement, performance...I love when surprising elements come together.
